Top Five Books That Should Be In Your Beach Bag

I'm participating in today's Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week's prompt is:

Top Five Books That Should Be In Your Beach Bag

Ah, beach reads.  Fun.  Relaxing.  Exciting.  Complete with that happy ending.  All read while sipping pina coladas, amirite??  To those of you hitting the beach (or pool for those of us who don't live near enough to go frequently *sob*) any one of these would be a great pick!

1. The Assassin's Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke
I just finished this duology, and highly recommend this swashbuckling adventure!  Plus, parts of it take place on the water.  Perfect for the beach.

2. Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
Between the love story and the humor and the rolling adventure, you'll have a great time while soaking up those rays.  (The Tempest could also work if you want something a bit heavier.)

3. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
Most people want something light and airy for the beach, and while this one isn't "light" it is still happy, and its epistolary nature makes for easy starting and stopping points between poolside naps.

4. Vessel by Sarah Beth Durst
The only downside to reading books with a desert setting is that it can make you really thirsty.  Ergo, reading them at the beach is optimal.

5. The Odyssey by Homer
Where better to read this classic epic story than at the beach where you can simultaneously watch for Greek sails on the horizon?

What would you add?

Great list! I loved Attachments and it is a great beach read. I also got a Sarah Beth Durst book at BEA which I am excited to read, The Lost!

Gah! So jealous that you have the latest Sarah Beth Durst book! I loved Vessel. Also, we're agreed on Attachments. Rowell can do no wrong.
