The next Da Vinci Code sequel will start filming in April, 2015, Deadline reports. We have Tom Hanks returning to star as Robert Langdon and Ron Howard back to direct. Weirdly, the studio's decided to skip one of Dan Brown's novels and adapt Inferno instead of The Lost Symbol. Is this a Freemason conspiracy?! (Spoiler alert: No. It isn't.)
Looks like it's time to finally read this book.
Spoiler alert: This book is just like all of Brown's other books, same characterization and all. But it kept me laughing because every time I'd read scenes with Bertrand Zobrist (a character), all I could see was Gru from "Despicable Me." So it's got that going for it...
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to know what you think. A lot of it takes place in Florence, which is cool for us.
Somehow it doesn't surprise me. But I do like the mash up of Dan Brown and Dispicable Me. And Florence is cool, so.
DeleteI agree with Lizzie - once you've read one Dan Brown book, you've read all of them. I read this because I read The Divine Comedy for my Italian class and I was looking for a paper topic. It was interesting to see how he incorporated that book into another mystery. It was an intriguing premise, but the ending was a bit underwhelming. Still, it'd be cool to see this on the white screen!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think "intriguing" and "underwhelming" are perfect words to describe Dan Brown books. I didn't love the movie adaptation of The DaVinci code, so I'm not sure if I'll see this one or not. We'll see!
DeleteOh gosh, it's been so long since I saw that movie. I did like the movie adaptation for Angels & Demons. Also, Ewan McGregor :)
DeleteI actually haven't seen the Angels and Demons film! I might have to look into that one, if it's better than the first film. And, Ewan McGregor is an excellent reason to look into it as well. :)
DeleteExactly what I thought! :)
