Book-to-Film: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith

From BookRiot:

The Pride and Prejudice and Zombies film, based on the mash-up novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, is set to begin shooting in September. The film will star Lily James (of Downton Abbey fame) as Elizabeth Bennet, Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy, and Jack Huston as George Wickham. Burr Steers, who worked on Charlie St. Cloud, is set to direct the screenplay that he co-wrote with David O. Russell, who recently worked on the for Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.

This movie could either be really good or really, really bad.

Will you see it?

  1. I'm actually very excited to see this. Like you said, it could go either way, but zombies make everything better. Although P&P is good just the way it is. But, zombies!

I haven't read the book, but I totally agree that the mash up of Jane Austen and zombies is pretty irresistible.

I am definitely going to see this movie! I loved this book and it's fantastic! It literally just adds zombies to the text of Pride and Prejudice. It uses a lot of the original content and just adds flesh-eating zombies and makes the Bennetts totally kickass. It's amazing!

    1. The whole premise of using Austen's original words mashed up with zombies is just bizarre enough to make me want to read it, though I haven't yet! I love the original story, but I have to admit, I'm curious about what the outcome of this film will be.
