Book-to-Film: Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer

  • What it's about: In this 1996 true story, a group of climbers embarked on a journey to the top of the tallest mountain, and not all of them survived.
  • Who's starring: In the film adaptation titled Everest, Jake Gyllenhaal, Keira Knightley, Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke, John Hawkes, and Sam Worthington star as the hikers.
  • Release date: Sept. 18

This movie looks like it will make me cold.  And sad.  Neither of which I am a very big fan of.  But that star-studded cast is pretty alluring, so we'll see.

    I saw a preview for this one but didn't know it was based on a book. It looks sad and hard to read or watch but I might still see the movie.

      Yeah, it looks like it's going to be well done, but considering what a tragedy it is I'm not sure I want to read the book or watch the film. It's just too sad.
